Don't miss the opportunity to visit one of the oldest and most enchanting Mallorcan estates on the island. A typical manor house, which maintains its charm after more than 500 years of history, with spectacular gardens that leave no one indifferent. Awaken your senses and enjoy a pleasant walk through this marvelous estate.
The history of the house and gardens is documented from the time of Arab domination. Initially, the houses of Gothic typology with a marked rural and fortified character, were structured around a 1 closed courtyard, with a tower added in the 16th century. The great 18th-century reform endowed Alfabia with its Baroque elements, the most defining features of its current configuration. This reform involved a substantial expansion of the original houses, giving them a new layout and decoration, while always maintaining the concept of a country house.
In the second half of the 19th century, a new and important intervention took place, which modified part of the previous reforms. The passage of time has left layers of each era, without the ensemble losing its balance, while the gardens have been wisely integrated into their natural environment. The evolution of the Alfabia house is a model of respect for the past and evolution balanced with conservation and innovation.
The Alfabia Gardens are considered a Site of Cultural Interest, and are part of the cultural landscape of the Serra de Tramuntana, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
