This is one of the most beautiful routes we can take near Granada. We delve into the "Tajos de la Hoz" (Gorges of the Sickle), a natural gorge carved by the constant flow of water which, together with the exuberant riverside vegetation, will give the hiker a pleasant feeling. We cross the Velillos River via its recently restored suspension bridge and pedestrian walkway. Finally, we arrive at the Fuente de la Corcuela (Corcuela Spring) where we rest for a while and continue to see the Neolithic cave paintings.
In addition to all the natural beauty, you will discover an incomparable historical heritage, due to its strategic location and the importance of this area in the past, such as the Castle of Moclín, one of the best defensive structures of the Nasrid period, and the Watchtowers (Torres Vigías), strategically scattered at the highest points of the surroundings.
We include the round-trip transfer from our meeting point in Granada. The distance we cover is 8 Kms, and the walking time is about 3 hours, in groups of a maximum of 8 people.
