Going up through the town of Tamaraceite, we will enter the area known as middle heights, a vast area that includes several municipalities located at an altitude of between 600 and 1,500 meters and that surprises all our visitors with its greenery and crops, a landscape that will accompany us for much of the day, very different from what we are used to in the south of the island, and in which important agricultural and livestock activity takes place. Our destination, the charming towns of Teror and San Mateo where two traditional markets take place on Sundays
Teror: A town with a well-preserved historic center where you can find the Basilica of Our Lady of Pino, the patron saint of the Diocese of the Canaries, as well as magnificent manor houses and Canary-style palaces that testify to the historical importance of this town. Its street market with a great atmosphere combines local products with crafts, clothing, and souvenirs. It is a pleasure to combine shopping with a walk through its pedestrian streets
Vega de San Mateo: A municipality with a marked agricultural and livestock character where a very interesting market of local gastronomic products takes place on Sundays, such as fruits, vegetables, cheese, nuts, spices... An explosion of smells and flavors that you cannot miss, accompanied by musical performances that invite you to dance
Both visits, together with the panoramic tour through the cultivated fields of the fertile middle heights zone, make this excursion a gift for our senses. Enjoy this rural Sunday atmosphere with us.
