Camels are a key part of Fuerteventura's identity. Since their arrival in the Canary Islands more than five centuries ago, they have accompanied islanders and visitors alike. Now, you can become part of their history.
Our zoo began with a small group of camels and is now home to the largest dromedary reserve in all of Europe. For over 30 years, we have meticulously cared for these animals, ensuring their health and well-being with a diet based on free-range grazing and the professionalism of those who love them most—their keepers.
Camel Experience is a unique eco-experience you can only have here. You choose your path: in Camel Experience 1, you can ride through the beautiful desert landscapes surrounding our Oasis until you see the sea. In Camel Experience 2, you can take in the splendor of the African savanna. Just hop on the adapted saddle, let these ancient animals guide you, and enjoy the ride.
Before we set off, we'll tell you all about your future companion in a workshop where you'll learn about the importance of their conservation and welfare.
